Ah, Odgie…I appreciate the idea the video suggests. Sort of. And I’m amused, but I think the delivery could have been better (I’d have gone the sarcasm route, personally). I think I’ll also include peeing standing up as one of the meaningless things Christians can argue over – which of course is exactly what is wrong with Christianity today (and probably not just in America).
That being said, I don’t know that peeing standing up deserves so much time on stage

I think we need to pray for this guy. Wow. Pray for any church who would hire a guy like this one. Pray for those entraped and enslaved by Satan’s power over the KJV mentality.

Jeff – What would the “standing” churches call themselves, and what would the “sitting” churches call themselves.
Kelly – That’s okay, as long as you were standing up when you leaked.

Those of us who preach every once in awhile are in the middle of a sermon and get what we think is ‘inspiration’ that comes out of nowhere. Sometimes we ignore it…sometimes we verbalize it to the listeners and it makes a good truth. But every once in awhile we will follow that tangent to a point that we never wish we could have gone. I wonder if that’s what happened to the right reverend?
Even so, wow. I would pay $10 to have seen his audience as he’s going down that road; I wonder if the nervous female giggle was his worn-down wife, and whether the “Amen!” near the end from some guy was from a man just trying to help out the preacher.
Anyway, a few other notes I thought were interesting…a)Genesis 5:5 and Acts 5:5 ‘prove’ that 5 signifies death in the Bible. What?
b)The NKJV doesn’t use his favorite phrase, and so it must be suspect.
c)Germans hate God because they don’t stand when they pee.
d)How would you enforce a no-standing ordinance? Can one stand in their own homes, or are there signs in there, since he mentioned he peed in several houses?
e)We’re headed to the American government enforcing that we can’t pee standing up? Only Ron Paul can save us from tyranny! That’s what’s wrong with America!
f)I wonder if he wants to start an organization of like-minded pastors called “Pastors For Proper Pee”, since so many today have foresaken the pattern by sitting.
g)He really starts getting agitated about the four-minute mark when he tells people to go by wimpy NKJVs. I wonder if people were laughing at him? I wonder if he still preaches there?

My OT prof said he sat there with his mouth open. His email in response to me began with, “Wow. Wow. Wow…”
That kinda says it all, I think!
By the by, when I was in Russia, I heard rumors (never substantiated by my own witness, thank God) that the men squat ON THE TOILET SEATS. So where does that fall on the spectrum?

Uhhhhh…hmmmmm……well……..I guess there are some things I failed to teach my sons about Christianity. It must be because I use the NIV. I can’t wait to share this one with Don. He’ll probably be as perplexed as I am.
